Nice clear overshot glass pitcher, made by the Boston and Sandwich Glass Co. circa 1875.
Wonderful example of Victorian era American art glass. Overshot glass was made by fusing shards of glass onto the body of the glass object. In this case, the body is a hand blown pitcher with a pontil mark on the base. The pitcher has a beautifully made applied ribbed handle.
The height of the pitcher is just under 6". Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a bit of staining on the base and lower part of the pitcher.
