This vintage cast iron doorstop is known as Southern Belle, and indeed she's the belle of the ball! An elegant lady in a long dress with intricate lace at the bodice and sleeves, holding a sunbonnet and a bouquet of violets.
The painting is really exquisite; the lace has extremely detailed gold tracery, the floral painting on the hat is great, and the face, particularly the eyes and mouth, are wonderful.
I believe this doorstop was made by the Albany National Foundry.
There are a few chips, as shown in the photos, but overall the condition is very good.
The doorstop stand 11 1/2" high.
