Unusual piece of vintage chalkware in the shape of a house that is also a coin bank.
I haven't seen a piece of chalkware quite like this, I would date it to circa late 19th or early 20th Century.
The house is L shaped, painted in colors of brown, yellow, green, grey and blue. The detailing is both folky and detailed. My favorite detail is a long, low dog painted in grey. I've had this bank for a long time and never noticed the dog until I was listing it today.
Excellent condition with just expected wear to the paint. The base has an old written price marked: 1.50.
The base measures about 4 1/4" x 4", the height is about 4".
