Fine 19th Century American Pantry Box.
This is a Shaker or Shaker type oval pantry box, dating circa early to mid 19th Century, in the original unpainted finish with excellent patina. There is a single finger on both the rim and base, held with handmade rosehead iron nails. The top and bottom are held in with tiny wood pegs.
The condition overall is very good. There is a hard to see split in the side, it starts just above where the finger ends and extends about 3". One of the tiny pegs is missing from the lid, so the lid is a bit loose.
The box measures 6 1/2" x 5" x 2 3/4" tall.
