Near pair of circa 1800 Federal brass candlesticks. These were most likely made in England, possibly in the U.S.
Very similar in design, but one candlestick measures 10 1/4" high, the other 10 3/4". The undersides are noticeably different. Nonetheless, the appearance is similar enough that with candlesticks in them they make a very nice pair, and would look lovely on a period American Federal candelstand, table or sideboard. The color of both sticks is very similar, a rose brass color.
The smaller stick is in excellent condition. The larger is in good condition, with a dent in the stem (shown in a closeup photo) and 2 round brass plugs in the base. The base on this stick also has a few nicks.
