Antique iron spiral candlestick mounted on wood base.
Circa early 19th Century, the iron spiral is fitted with a nice pigtail top which would have enabled it to hand from the back rail of a chair (hopefully, when not in use) and an insert with a spiral wound lever that operates as a candle ejector. A nice piece of blacksmithing!
Not sure of the wood used for the base, but it is very nicely grained and well turned. The base has impressed letters TL.
Excellent condition, with one small internal crack emanating from a knot in the base.
Overall height about 9 3/4".
