Here is a charming colored etching by the engraver and print publisher Louis-Marin Bonnet (1736-1793) from a work by Jean-Baptiste Huet (1745-1811) famous French painter specialist in pastoral scenes.
It represents two children ,a little boy kissing a little girl ,and a pretty goat who takes advantage of the situation to eat the young girl’s bouquet of flowers !
She is really La Chèvre Bien Aimée .
Pastel tones bring a lot of softness to the whole.
Except a damp stain in the lower margin, under the title, and some soiling of the paper, the engraving is in good general condition.
It is surrounded by a small gilded stuccoed golden frame, from the same period, which is slightly veiled at the top.
The gilded is a little worn in places and there is a small hole at the top of the frame due to a nail being driven in too far ,a small part of the nail is still in the hole .
It has its original old blown glass .
These little defects are quite normal for the age and give even more charm to the object !
Some white spots are due to the light one the glass.
Dimension : 7,7’’ x 8,9’’ framed (19,5cm x 22,5cm)
6,3’’ x 7,5’’ in sight (16cm x 19cm)

This engraving is one of a series of four ,each sold individually.
