Here is a charming colored etching by the engraver and print publisher Louis-Marin Bonnet (1736-1793) after a work by Jean-Baptiste Huet (1745-1811) famous French painter specialist of pastoral scenes.
It represents two children with their dog and her six puppies. It is an adorable scene ,full of tenderness and rightly titled La Bonne Chienne.
Pastel tones bring a lot of softness to the whole.
The engraving is in good general condition ,it is just necessary to note some white spots in the lower margin.
It is surrounded by a small frame from the same period in stuccoed gilded wood with its original old blown glass.
The gilding is a little worn in places and there are a few small accidents in the corners, but nothing major and completely normal for its age.
These little defects give even more charm to the objects.
Some small white spots are due to the reflection of the light on the glass.

Dimension: 7,7’’ x 8,9’’ framed (19,5cm x 22,5cm)
6,3’’ x 7,5’' in sight (16cm x 19cm)

This engraving is one of series of four , each sold individually.
