This pretty plaque ,which could be called '' Allegory of Love '' , depicts a couple of lovers surrounded by two cherubs in a pretty garden.
The plaque is glued on a piece of old velvet,a little worn, so I don’t know if there is a factory mark on the back.
But everything suggests that it is a work of Wedgwood.
There is a very small chip at the top of the plaque, but not visible when you look at it from the front, and a micro crack ( a cooking defect ) , on the left side.
Otherwise this charming and decorative plaque is in good condition.
It is surrounded by a gilded stuccoed wooden frame which is more recent.
Dimension : 6,3’’ x 5,3’’ framed (16cm x 13,(cm)
3,8’’ x 2,8’’ plaque (9,5cm x 7cm)
This lovely item would be perfect for a wedding present.
