Here is an unusual and touching piece,perfect example of french funeral art,late19th century early 20th century.
It is in very good condition.
The cross is entirely made of tiny opaline glass beads mounted on an iron wire,twisted on another more rigid wire, covered with white cotton thread.
The beads are white,but the metal wire gives them a bluish reflection.
The front is embellished with several bead flowers.
A charming bisque cherub with open arms,certainly coming from a Limoges manufacturer,occupies the center of the cross.
He is in good condition,just some small traces on the bisque.
Dimension : 15’’ H (38cm)
11,4’’ W (29cm)
Cherub = 2,6’’ H (6,5cm)
This very interesting and decorative object will be perfect for a curiosities lover.
