As we can read on the old label stuck to the back of the medallion,this charming brick red wax portrait represents Aline Julie Louise Daguin,modeled by her grandmother Madame Grandjean at the beginning of the 19th century.
The portrait is attached to its pretty original night blue glass back plate,protected by a convex glass and surrounded by a blackened wooden frame with a gilded brass strapping.
A little metal ring allows to hang it.
The modeling is very fine and delicately done.
This medallion is in very good condition,just some very fine scratches on the blue glass,barely visible.
