This beautiful still life ,painted in the style of the 17th century, makes me think a little of the paintings of Paul Liegeois, artist of Flemish origin and active in Paris in the middle of the years 1650-1670.
This painting dates from the end of the 19th century and doesn’t bear any signature.
The subject is particularly well treated with a nice light on the fruits,,so realistic that they make you want to eat them !
You have the choice between, peaches, plums , black grape, nuts or a nice slice of melon.
Some leaves have remained attached to the fruits
The painting is in a dominant of green tones,a little dark, like the Flemish paintings, and which under the light, lights up ,as if by magic.
It is in good condition, just note, when we look closely, some traces on the edges, probably due to an earlier framing, but it is not disturbing.
The painting is surrounded with a pretty stuccoed gilded wood frame,in overall good condition, whose the four corners at the back have been transformed to adapt it to the good dimensions.A well done work. Please, see detailed photos.
A little ring allows to hang it.
Dimension : 13,8’’ x 16,1’’ framed (35cm x 41cm)
9,5’’ x 12,2’’ sight (24cm x 31cm)
