These 3 charming desk items produced in Scotland ,especially in Mauchline, during the 19th century, were intended for tourists as a souvenir.
They were made of wood covered with printed tartans designs paper, with many traditional clan patterns.
The name of the tartan is inscribed in tiny gold letters on each trinket.
The paper knife bears the name of Prince Charlie tartan. It’s in good condition, just an ink stain, and it measures 7,9’’ (20cm).
The first bookmark, with the Cameron tartan design, has a small lack of paper (that someone tried to repaint!)and very little wear on the tip. It’s about 4,3’’ (11cm) .
The second one, with the Macbeth plaid pattern is in shape of scimitar. It served and shows some paper wear on the ‘’blade’’.It’s about 5,1’’ long (13cm)
These pretty trinkets,in overall good condition for age, will be perfect to complete your Tartan Ware collection!
