This nice still life has been painted by Anna Dugelay, wife of Primitive Bono painter himself, and reputed for her still life with coppers, particularly well rendered, and her flowers bouquets.
She and her husband have traveled a lot, especially in Algeria were they lived and regularly exhibited their works from the middle1920s to the 1950s in Alger,Oran and Sidi-Bel-Abbès.
Anna was born in 1891 and died at the end of the sixties.
This painting is typical from her style, with the red copper kettle ,two old wine bottles and a turnip bunch laid on the table in the foreground. Two keys are hung in the top left corner.
The painting is signed at the bottom left and the name is rewritten at the back.
It’s in overall good condition,no hole or restoration, just note some light wear on paint, due to friction, at the bottom right, but nothing important. The painting is varnished.
The canvas is mounted on a beautiful key frame, but it’s old and has been nailed again in some places. Please, see detailed photos.
Dimension: 20,3’’ x 15’’ (51,5 x 38,2cm). Unframed.
It’s a very decorative painting, with deep colors, perfect to embellish the kitchen of a country house.
