A stunning large English Victorian silver plated biscuit barrel/cookie jar with embossed cherub decoration to body. Has engraved inside of the hinged lid which has the family crest and motto 'Hoc Securior' and 'St James's', possibly connected to the St James's area of London which was known to be a residential area for the aristocracy of the time. Has the Elkington date mark for 1875.
