A unique vintage sterling and black sapphire ring. This ring was a gift to my client in 1973 from her Green beret Father when he returned from Vietnam. The black sapphire is unusual as in the 1970s' we were not using black sapphires in jewelry like we do now. Vietnam has always been a gem rich country and I am sure they were using what they had. Black sapphire is much better than onyx in jewelry as it does not scratch and abrade like onyx does. The ring is stamped "SILVER" and an Asian symbol and acid tests as Sterling. My clients grandchildren have no interest in this little piece of history and we could not bear the thought of them just scrapping it.The ring is a size 6.5, we can size up to a size 9 for purchaser at no charge. Rings sized by us may be returned, rings sized elsewhere may not. I am a Graduate Gemologist and a retired Jewelry store owner (18 years) and my husband is my jeweler. Shipping is $2.75 USPS mail yes we combine shipping 2 week return
