Ming's of Hawaii (and also New York and San Francisco) was a staple of Hawaiian jewelry. Ming's was renowned for their Jadeite jewelry. This wonderful estate ring was purchased in Hawaii in the early 1980's and features a fabulous
lavender oval jadeite jade cabochon. The jade measures 22.5 mm x 16.1 mm x 7.5 mm ( estimates, measured while mounted) and is approximately 26 carats. The jade is Translucent- not transparent or opaque. I can't get over the color! It is lavender purple that in certain lights has blue tints. The stone is bezel set in a 14 kt yellow gold mounting that is stamped "14 kt Mings". The ring is a size 11 and is in good condition. I am a retired jewelry store owner
(18 years) and a Graduate Gemologist since 1995. Jade has been a special interest of mine for 20 years, and I have no doubt this is a natural, un-enhanced lavender jade, on top of that Ming's was known for the untreated quality of their jade. We can size the ring down at no charge for purchaser. Rings sized by us may be returned, rings sized elsewhere may not. This item will require a signature.
