A very pretty ring with an unusual combination of gemstones. The top of the ring dates to the Victorian period, c1880, and is likely to have originally been a stickpin. It came to me as it is and has had an exquisite Victorian style shank added at some point in its life. The pansy is set with two pale amethysts, two citrines and a beautiful vibrant turquoise. The pansy was given as a love token during the Victorian period and is taken from the French verb 'penser' meaning 'to think' - I am thinking of you. The gold all tests as 15ct gold and there is a real feel of quality about the piece.
