A stunning and unusual ring from the Edwardian period, c1905. The ring is European in origin and is beautifully made with a lovely solid 18ct gold shank topped by an intricate basket that is platinum topped. The top has been made in a 'kite' shape and is set throughout with rose diamonds. The diamonds glitter enticingly on the finger and this ring has a beautiful look.
The ring is hallmarked on the outside of the shank with French import hallmarks, with an owl with a 75 inside for 18ct gold and a mask indicating platinum. Both these hallmarks were used in France on completed jewelry items from an unknown or foreign source.
