An absolutely stunning brooch from the Edwardian period, c1915. The brooch is made from 18ct gold and has a lovely large aquamarine at its centre. The aquamarine measures 15mm by 13mm making it approximately 9cts. This is claw set and surrounded by 12 wonderful deep pink rubies. The rubies are beautiful quality and the brooch has been given a slightly scalloped edge effect. To finish, there are four white sapphires individually set at the four corners of the piece.
The brooch pin seems to have been replaced at some point in the pieces history. Regardless of this, this brooch is of the utmost quality and looks wonderful worn as a brooch or on a beautiful gold chain as a pendant. It comes in the blue velvet box as pictured, which could be the original box.
