A beautiful classic gypsy ring from the late Victorian period, c1880. The ring has two cabochon chrysoberyl cats eye gemstones on either side and a cats eye quartz at the centre that has been cut in the same way and has a similar play of light as the chrysoberyls. I believe all the stones are original to the piece as they are such an excellent match, though it is unusual to find this combination of gemstones together. The centre stone measures approximately 5.5mm in diameter. The two smaller stones are approximately 2.5mm. The cats eye in the three stones moves prettily across the gems when the light shines on them and they are a pale grey to mossy green colour overall. The gemstones are set in the gypsy style popular during this period, in a beautiful heavy 15ct gold mount that has a pale rose colour.
