This is a beautiful, perfectly proportioned vinaigrette from the Victorian period, circa 1870. It has a purse motif to the front and a pretty etching of flowers to the center back. The vinaigrette opens to reveal an elaborate silver colored grill that can be lifted and would have held a swab of cotton that had been doused in sweet smelling perfumes. Now, it would make a beautiful locket, though is deep enough to hold other secrets! A perfect addition to a long chain or as part of a collection of charms.
