Wonderful art deco style dress or fur clip in a gold tone metal with clear rhinestones marked with Pat 1852188, the number for the clip patent which was filed in 1931 by Elisha A. Phinney but the whole clip would have been made at a later date. In very good vintage condition this dress clip has a very distinct art deco look to it with most of the rhinestones still sparkling. Some have darkened over time and at the very top is a row of baquette style clear rhinestones. All appear to be present and secure. The dress clip is 1 3/4" long and 2" wide at the widest point and the prongs on the clip are still sharp and work well. New ways of wearing these dress clips are appearing like wearing it on a pocket, a scarf or even sliding the chain underneath the clip and using as a pendant. Very versatile and lovely!
