This is a majestic Armchair made from solid and exquisitely patinaed walnut during the Renaissance revival period by the second half of the 19th Century. This splendid piece consists of a tall rectangular back standing above a large and comfortable seat flanked by elegantly scrolled armrest adorned with acanthus patterns, all supported by nicely turned feet on craw feet, connected to each other by an X-shaped stretcher providing stability and sturdiness. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen on the frame due to the age. The upholstery is estimated to be three or four decades old in used condition. Circa date 1870-1880.
