This is a very nice parlor set, directly inspired of the Louis XVI period more or less a century earlier, made from a nicely patinaed walnut at the end of the 19th century. This elegant set consists of one large sofa and four side chairs. Each with pierced carved tied ribbon cartouche upon medallion shaped back with graceful turned tapered fluted legs. Note the meticulous embellishment on the frames representing raie de cour design trimmed by tiny beads. The floral fabric is estimated to be from the second half of the 20th century, it is in used condition and would need to be replaced at some point. Circa date 1880-1890. Dimensions Sofa: 37½"high/ 17½"seat height/ 50"wide/ 21"deep. Dimensions Chairs: 37½"high/ 18"seat height/ 16"wide/ 16"deep.
