This is a beautiful and massive pair of marble brackets handmade by the end of the 18th century, each sculpted from a single piece of Caunes Speckled Gray marble. The quarry was originally located in Caunes-Minervois in Aude South of France. Used greatly during the 17th and 18th century for furniture, decoration and fireplace. Note minor chips on edges. Dimensions 12 ¼”high/ 4 ½”wide/ 3 ½”deep.
