This is an adorably simple cabinet made from a lovely patinaed pine around the middle part of the 19th century during the reign of Oscar I (born in Paris and named Joseph François Oscar Bernadotte; 4 July 1799 – 8 July 1859). This charming and convenient piece was mostly used in kitchen, its large single recessed paneled door reveals a spacious storage area with three shelves. The door is mounted with its original handle and escutcheon. Note the strong French influence on the design of this item, combining Empire and Louis Philippe styles. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1850. Dimensions 52"high/ 36"wide/ 20"deep.
