This is a very nice pair of bronze sconces made around the middle part of the 19th century by the end of the Napoleon III era. This pair is directly inspired of the Louis XVI style more or less eighty years earlier. Each consisting of back plate intricately accented with acanthus patterns and trellis design and mounted with three arms with plates and bobeches originally for candles. They have been pierced at some point to allow wiring to mount them into lamps. Circa date 1850-1860. Dimensions 9"high/ 13"wide/ 7"deep.
