This is a beautiful Desk made from an impressively patinaed oak by the middle part of the 19th century, directly inspired of the Louis XIII period more or less two hundred years earlier. This magnificent piece consists of a large gadrooned writing area sitting upon a straight belt featuring a couple of drawers mounted with working locks, all supported by a stunning pediment boasting boldly sculpted barley twisted legs connected to each other thanks to a matching H-shaped stretcher providing stability and sturdiness. Note the locks and keys are original to the piece. Several minor scracthes and dents can be seen due to the age on this sumptuous antique.
