This is a stunning and impressively sculpted buffet made from solid oak by the middle part of the 19th century, originally coming from Brittany in northern France. This massive piece is boldly built with very thick wood making it very heavy. It is intricately embellished with acanthus, floral and heraldic shields from the pair of drawers to the pair of recessed paneled doors. Note the wrought iron handles mounting the drawers and the large pierced wrought iron hinges and escutcheons mounting the doors. The sides are triple paneled. This buffet is also very convenient thanks to the efficient storage capacity provided. Looks are in working order. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1850-1860. Dimensions 39"high/ 49"wide/ 19"deep. Layaway available for this item.
