This is an elegantly simple Armchair made by the second half of the 19th century during the Renaissance revival period following the Napoleon III era. This adorable piece consists of a rectangular caned back highlighted by an acanthus shaped crest centering the classical shell, standing upon the wide and almost triangular seat flanked by nicely scrolled armrests, all supported by lovely turned legs connected by an H-shaped stretcher. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1870-1880. Dimensions 37"high/ 18"seat height/ 23"wide/ 17"deep.
