This is a magnificent Bookcase made from a beautifully patinaed oak during the Renaissance revival period following the reign of Napoleon III. This impressive antique is boasting an intricate hand-carved embellishment, depicting the classical foliage and Greek architectural patterns of this period, from the large flat molded gadrooned cornice to the splendid facade below flanked by barley twisted columns and standing on a stunning pediment. Beside the breathtaking visual impact, this tall piece is offering a very spacious storage capacity thanks to a large compartment with three adjustable shelves revealed by the pair of glass doors and the large bottom drawer concealed in the pediment. Note lock and key are in original and working condition. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1870-1880. Dimensions 91"high/ 59"wide (Crown)/ 52"wide (Body) 18"deep. Layaway available for this item.
