This is an elegantly simple Buffet made from solid and exquisitely patinaed walnut throughout the first half of the 19th century during the Louis Philippe period. This piece is originally coming from Toulon in the south of France, which has a large military harbor on the Mediterranean coast (We strongly advise you to google the name of the city to see stunning pictures of the area). This beautiful piece featured some straight and simple lines, typical of the Louis Philippe period and offers a spacious storage capacity thanks to a couple of drawers upon a pair of recessed paneled doors revealing a large compartment with shelf. The interesting part comes from the ormulus which are typical of the area with dolphin-shaped handles and escutcheons as well as mermaids and tridents. The lock on the door is in working order. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1830-1840. Dimensions 39½”high/ 55"wide/ 20"deep. Layaway available for this item.
