This is a handsome and lovely patinaed middle part of the 18th Century Armchair, directly inspired of the Louis XIII era more or less one hundred years earlier (Louis XIII 1601-1643) commonly called Fauteuil a tournage en Chapelet due to the Prayer beads design of the armrests and pediment. This armchair is typical of the region Lorraine in northeastern France bordering Belgium, which has been using the Chapelet pattern during the entire 18th century (one of the only area to do so, most have been using either the barley twist or the baluster design). This armchair is covered by a reddish fabric estimated to be a couple of decade old, while still passable, it is in used condition. Several scratches, dents and minor chips can be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1750. Dimensions 36"high/ 19"seat height/ 21"wide/ 18"deep.
