Kalevala Koru Merya hinged sterling silver bangle bracelet. This outstanding bracelet has a braided design with a zigzag pattern running between the braids. There are the S scrolled charms that hang off of one side when closed. It was inspired by a bracelet that dates back from 900 to 1000 AD, during the Viking era. The original bracelet is in the National Museum in Helsinki, Finland. It was worn by Finno-Ugric tribes living in Russia at the time. This rare, and fantastic bracelet is a statement piece that is sure to be noticed.
The bracelet measures 8 inches in circumference around the inside, 2.55 inches in diameter, is 2 inches wide, and weighs a hefty 157.1 grams or just over 5 ounces . It is fully hallmarked 925 sterling silver, and carries the Kalevala Koru KK mark. The hallmark dates it to 1972. It is in great condition, only seems to be missing a safety chain which can easily be replaced.
