Vintage 10K yellow stone cameo and seed pearl brooch / pendant. This delightful hard stone cameo features a portrait of Paris. Paris was a central figure in the Trojan war. Paris abducted Helen, and took her to Troy. The Greeks built the Trojan horse, filled it with warriors, destroyed Troy, and returned Helen back to Sparta. The frame is surrounded by tiny seed pearls, with slightly larger seed pearl accents at the top, bottom, and both sides. It has a fold down bail on the back that allows it to be worn as a pendant, and a pin with a locking mechanism for wear as a brooch. Both the pin & bail function perfectly. A beautiful addition to a cameo collection!
The brooch is marked 10K on the closure. It contains one carnelian carved hard stone cameo, with multiple round seed pearls. The brooch measues 28mm tall by 22mm wide. It is in excellent overall condition, with just a couple of very tiny flea bites along the edge of the stone, which can be seen through magnification. It dates to the early 20th century.
