Victorian 9ct gold articulated brooch / pin. The Victorians made some wonderful articulated jewelry. The movement of the piece adds so much interest to it. This lovely brooch is made in three parts: the top bar piece has raised embellishments, the middle bar with 2 'S' curves that dangles from the top bar, and the pointed tear drop piece that dangles from the middle section. All three pieces are hand chased. The back of the brooch is closed, and each piece is hollow, so it is lightweight. There is a 'c' clasp catch for the pin. This lovely Victorian piece would add a touch of class to most any outfit!
The brooch is made from 9ct gold. It is not marked but has been acid tested to 9ct. It measures 1.62 inches wide by 1.62 inches long, and is in excellent for an item over 100 years old. It dates to the mid Victorian period, c.1870 - 1880.
