Unusual Victorian 10K rose gold locket with enamel. This unique 10K rose gold locket is oval in shape and has a center enamel plaque. The symbol on the enamel plaque is for the zodiac sign Capricorn. It is done in pink on a white background. There is beautiful floral chasing around the edge on the front of the locket, while the back is plain. It opens to reveal a little picture frame on each side. The gold is unmarked, but the exterior case of the locket acid tests to 10K gold. There were tiny scratches made to the ball on the back of the bail to test for gold content. The inside of the locket has a yellow gold wash. The locket measures 1.38 inches long (including the bail) by .88 inches wide. It is hinged on the left side and has a nice crisp snap when being closed. The bail on the top swivels. It is in wonderful condition for it's age, with light wear on the back and inside. There are no dents on the locket, and front is in excellent condition with no losses to the enamel. This is a rare piece of Victorian jewelry.
