Antique2Estate Jewels
is now SOLDRare, Victorian, button bracelet in 14 karat yellow gold with small, round, cabochon, bezel set turquoise stones. There are a total of sixteen, round circles with textured surfaces, each having a bezel set turquoise in its center. The hidden box clasp is covered by the end circle. There is a safety chain that ends in a matching, textured ball. The turquoise stones vary in color from blue to green. The variation in color is usually caused by great age along with lotions and perfumes worn by previous owners. Many of these Victorian women were small and the size of this bracelet reflects that. It measures 7” long (today most bracelets are 7 1/2” long) so this will only fit a small wrist. There is a nice, age appropriate, patina on this bracelet. It could be polished but I believe that would take away some of its charm. There is an interesting number on the tongue of the clasp, X111. I have no idea what it means. There is no karat mark but it has been gently tested to be 14 karat gold. The bracelet weighs 11.2 grams. A good weight and a sturdy bracelet in great vintage condition. And so pretty!
