An outstanding, 14 karat yellow gold, opal and diamond ring probably custom made in the 1950s-1960s. The center has a multi prong set, high dome, cabochon, fine opal that exhibits flashes of red, green, orange, yellow, blue and purple depending on how it catches the light. Really incredible opal! It measures approximately 10 x 12mm and weighs approximately 3-3.5 carats. It is surrounded by 12, prong set in 14k white gold, round brilliant cut diamonds, each measuring approximately 3.0mm. They are HIJ in color and SI1 in clarity and have an approximate total weight of 1.20 carats. Beneath the diamonds there is a scalloped edging that beautifully frames each diamond. There is a five wire multi shank that narrows to a three wire base. The top of the ring measures approximately 1” long and 3/4” wide. The base measures 3.6mm. The ring is a size 8 and can be resized. It weighs 11.1 grams. It is in very nice condition with some light surface scratching to the gold. This is a large scale, sure to be noticed, gorgeous ring. Beautiful on the hand and easy to wear.
