This small (12 1/2" X 13") silk woven art tapestry scene depicts a French couple walking down a cobbled street in the rain with spectators along the sidewalk, many with umbrellas. It is monochrome; black, cream, and shades of gray. It is unframed. The mark "D.A.Perez" is in one corner. Perez was a nineteenth century French painter and tapestry maker. This piece is in fair vintage condition with a 3/4" long hole just below the feet of the main male figure. It is not very noticeable, looking like a puddle. There is a faint water stain, visible on the the back, shown in the photographs. Frame this little antique hand-made treasure however you like and enjoy it as a piece of art.
