This little silver cat pin is marked "Beaucraft Sterling" on the back. This company produced a series of cat pins during the 1950's and 1960's that were modernist in design, a bit abstract, and all wore the same face. This little cat is striding forward with his simple, matte-finished face turned out. His body is shiny sterling but not lacquered, and so it has a patina of age. The pin is cleverly designed to suggest a cat with personality; it is very minimalist. The little three-dimensional pin measures 1 3/4" long, 1 1/4" high, and 1/2" thick. It has a safety catch and is in excellent original condition. It weighs 5.9 grams.
