This lovely old locket dates from around 1890. It features a crescent moon set with faceted paste (glass) stones set into it. At the edges of the crescent is a single paste stone set in a gypsy setting forming a star. This nicely sized (1 5/16") locket is gold-filled with a matte finish. The back is plain with no monogram. The locket is hinged at the bottom, opening so that one can view the photographs inside while wearing it. One side has the original bezel and celluloid photo cover. The chain included is a pretty gold filled one that is "FBM 393" on the clasp, presumably a maker's mark. This locket is in excellent condition.
