These vintage earrings are screw-backs; this type of fastener was prevalent between 1920 and 1960. Both earrings feature full-figure, bezel-set shell cameos that face each other. The carving is of good quality; the figure a woman in a flowing gown with her arms raised. The frames of the earrings are silver, marked "800" on the tips of the screws. This is the purity of silver used by Italy before World War II; Italy is probably where these earrings were made. The mountings are further embellished with a twisted gold accent wire and 18 marcasites per earring. These good-quality earrings are in excellent original condition. Each measures 5/8" X 7/8" X 1/4" thick.
