How pretty is this radiating star quilt in pastel Easter colors! There are many colors, all pastels, including two blues, two greens, two pinks, yellow, and peach. The backing is mint green. The star is hand-pieced but the long seams are machine- sewn. The quilting is by hand at an average of 8 stitches per inch. There are Pennsylvania Dutch symbols quilted into the open spaces of this quilt. It was probably made in Ohio or Pennsylvania. The maker has initialed and dated this quilt on the back, "D.A. 2-17-54." The quilt was probably completed in 1954. The fabrics are 100% cotton sateen. The quilt has been washed so that the sheen has been partially lost and some fading has occurred. But the pastel beauty of this Easter quilt is really something to behold. It measures 74" X 90" and will fit a full-sized bed. It has no condition issues other than a bit of fading. It came from a Chicago collection.
