This Depression-era quilt features fans created from cotton dress and apron prints of the era. The way that the fans are set into the quilt gives a lot of movement to the design. The fun pattern is set off beautifully by the dramatic and colorful triangle border that surrounds the quilt. This quilt is 100% cotton and may be washed in the washing machine and dried in the drier. It has been recently cleaned. There is one faint brown 2" stain near one border (shown in the photographs). This quilt has been used and shows slight fading but no wear or breaks in the fabrics. The fan figures were hand pieced but machine appliqued onto the top. The naive quilting is by hand at 6 stitches per inch. This visually stunning quilt is 74" X 86" and will fit a full sized bed. It came from a Chicago collection.
