This lovely antique pendant locket bears David Andersen of Norway's earliest mark, dating it from the late nineteenth century. It is gold over sterling. There is a compartment on the back with a pop-off bezel for a photograph or keepsake (like a lock of hair). The glass is missing from the cover. The pendant itself has beautiful deep blue guilloche enamel on the front, edged delicately with white enamel. The enamel work is perfect. There is a floral design in silver around the center. There is an enamel bail original to this piece that is functional but somewhat damaged (shown in the photographs) or possibly repaired. The bail could be replaced if one wished. The 18" chain included is gold-filled and not original. This pendant looks great on a neck cuff. The pendant is 1 1/2" long (not including the bail) and 1 1/16" wide with a weight of 37 grams.
