This ring is ca. 1900 and made of 10K rose gold. It is hollow underneath and thus not very heavy; it sits nicely on one's finger and does not turn around. The shield-shaped stone is cut and polished black onyx, bezel-set by hand. In the center is a small European-cut diamond with a square white gold mounting. The expertly crafted diamond mounting can be seen on the inside of the ring. The diamond is prong-set. This ring is in excellent original condition with no issues. It is marked inside the band "H R" and "10K." The shield measures 5/8" high and 5/8" across. The ring is a size 7 1/4. It weighs 3.4 grams.
