Celebrating 25 years of Antiquing Bliss

Olive-Brown and Black Catalin Bakelite Spacer Bangle Set - image 1 of 5

This matched set of Catalin bakelite bangles dates from the late 1930's. They are a light olive brown with a rust overtone and black matrix. (Catalin is the name for two-color bakelite, invented by the Catalin company of Chicago.) These bangles may be worn as a pair by themselves, or spaced (hence the name spacer bangle) between wider bangles to accent them. These, for instance, could be worn between caramel, black, or brown bangles for a different look. These bangles have a polished matte finish. They measure 1/4" wide, 3/16" thick, and they have an inner circumference of 7 3/4." They will fit over an average to above average sized hand. They are easier to get on than a wider bangle.
