This lovely Victorian brooch dates from around 1900. The original C-catch and tube hinge have been replaced with modern fittings including a safety catch, and an excellent job was done. The top of this brooch is gold-filled; the back is white brass. The pin is hollow. It is in excellent condition with no dents, scratches, or chips on the enamel. The enamel decoration is two roses and a forget-me-not on a white shield. Forget-me-nots were a favorite Victorian flower, and sentimental gifts often included this motif. Colors include black, yellow, pink, blue, green, and white. It measures 1 3/4" X 1 1/2" X 3/8" thick.
